In chat with Nano we both need some advice on Perks for Weapons & Armour & how best to make them. I spend ages on Wiki trying to work out which perks are best for combat & how to make them. I half know the basics & I now also have access to Ancient Gizmos but I struggle to know what to aim for.
Also I have always struggled with combat & I would also like some advice on settings for action bars for each style, 2 handed & dual wield. I think if I had better set ups I would hopefully be able to enjoy combat a bit more as it is a part of the game I find difficult.
I know we have people here who enjoy combat so any advice would be much appreciated.
it would be nice to know some good perks for a bit lower invention skill too.I once made a butterfinger perk. No idea what it was. I put it on my mattock. And then excavated items flipped out of my hands. To find it nowhere. LOL
I would really love to share what I like to use and how to make things or set up action bars. I would rather make a new post though so I can add lots of pictures. Pictures make things easier to show and explain. If you give me a day or so I will make a nice big post 🙂
The best options to make a story is to produce a new page, better than a post. The (re)direction to such a page can be added to any of the menus 🙂

I did not use perks until I reached 85 inv and unlocked ancient invention. Now I feel pretty comfortable with them. Honed on tools like mattock. Precise 6 (and possibly genocidal if it pops up but if not, I wouldn’t reroll a 5 or a 6 over it) and equilibrium 4 for 2h and dw (on dw you have P6 on mainland, E4 on offhand) I’ll check my T90 armor but on my t80s that I use for low level bosses or slayer, I have scavenging. This one is rough to get due to the precise components. Best way to get them is slayer rings, which I haven’t unlocked. Once you have it, it gets your precise components and others pretty easily.
But in a TLDR, 85 and ancient inv are a must have for cheap and great perks. I believe Maikeru and Protoxx have good videos on YouTube about perks. Protoxx I think also have a good base action bar video. Don’t worry about the nitty gritty of the rotations he talks about. I use the 6 (3 styles, 2h and dw) as my bars 1-6 and then have extras for specific situations (kreearra/archglacor farm, arraxor, nex with no bleeds on auto for blood phase, etc.)

If anyone who wants to make a page gets in trouble, I am happy to help. Especially how to add a page to a menu is only open to the admins, so that is actually the only thing where help is needed. Also, don’t be afraid to try something or make mistakes in the process. It is the best way to learn 🙂
